On Sunday, the Connecticut Sun easily defeated the Fever in the first round of the WNBA playoffs, 93-69, at Mohegan Sun Arena. Clark’s performance was rather unimpressive, with 11 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
Clark, who won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award unanimously and was also named to the All-WNBA First Team and All-Rookie Team, did not live up to fans’ expectations. If she and the Fever continue to falter in Wednesday’s crucial Game 2, they could be looking at an early postseason exit.

However, Clark has other options lined up. After demonstrating her commentating skills on baseball, several MLB teams have extended an open invitation for her to join their broadcast booth.
On Friday, a comical video was shared by Fever teammate Lexie Hull, showing Clark attempting to provide a play-by-play commentary during a match between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers. Speaking about the now-viral clip the next day, she said: “Well I told Lex that sometimes I’ll just commentate some games and she’s like, ‘All right, we’ll do it right now’.
“I didn’t really know she was recording until a little bit too, but I don’t know, it’s just kinda fun. I’ve kind of been following the Phillies, so I kinda know some of their players and stuff.
“It was pretty funny, I messed up a few times, but that’s a hard gig! Also, I was out of breath and exhausted, so shoutout to all the commentators out there. I did it for two minutes and I needed a break… I don’t know if commentating’s in my future, but who knows, maybe one time for fun, someone will let me do it.”
Her brief stint as a commentator caught the attention of both the Phillies and Brewers, with each team inviting her to join them in the booth. “Hey Caitlin what’s going on? ” said Tom McCarthy, the television voice for Philadelphia.
“Great job the other day with that description, got to the hole, threw it comfortably over to first.”
“You have a future, and by the way, any downtime you have you’re up in the booth whenever you want. Bring [boyfriend] Connor [McCaffery] too, he likes The Red.”
The Brewers made it clear that they were interested in Caitlin Clark, tweeting: “Let’s get you on our broadcast for real @CaitlinClark22, hit us up.”.
Clark is currently focused on leading the Indiana Fever to postseason glory. Despite a tough start to their postseason campaign, she remains undeterred and confident, stating that team spirit is strong.
“We can win, it’s not anything about the building, it’s not about the gym, it’s not about the hoops,” she proclaimed. “I have all the confidence in the world in this team and everybody in our locker room does. And I know we’ll be a lot better on Wednesday.”
