The final 15 minutes of the game begins with the Bengals on offense after Joe Burrow kept the drive alive by evading pass rushers to find his running back for a first down.

On a pivotal 3rd and 6, Burrow connected with Ja’Marr Chase to get the Bengals a first down.
Nothing would come of the drive for the Bengals after a devastating interception thrown by Burrow.
Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati’s top defensive player, went down on the field during the Panthers’ drive.
Replay showed he and teammate Sam Hubbard’s heads collided during the pass rush. Hendrickson was able to walk off the field under his own power. He has been taken to the blue medical tent on the sideline. Hendrickson will not return to the game due to a neck injury, the team announced.

Carolina did get a field goal out of the drive, reducing the Bengals’ lead. Cincinnati leads 31-24.
The Bengals failed to get into scoring position and punted the ball back to Carolina.
The Panthers take over at the 8-yard line.
Cincinnati’s defense came up big, forcing the Panthers to punt. Burrow and the offense returned to the field with 4:23 remaining in the game.
A clock-draining drive and a McPherson field goal put the Bengals in position for their first victory of the season.
Cincinnati is 34-24 with 1:14 remaining.

Cincinnati’s defense did not allow Andy Dalton and the Panthers to get a single first down on Carolina’s ensuing drive.
Carolina lined up to punt on their next drive, but the Panthers tried a trick play with the punt-pass. The pass fell incomplete and Cincinnati takes over on offense.
Evan McPherson’s 56-yard field goal on the drive increases the Bengals lead to 31-14 with less than three minutes left in the quarter.
The Panthers did respond with a touchdown pass from Dalton to Diontae Johnson. Cincinnati still leads 31-21 with 53 seconds left in the third quarter.

Carolina, on the Bengals’ 45-yard line, converted a fourth down attempt to continue their drive.
