According to the most recent poll commissioned by The New York Post, former US President Donald Trump has caught up to Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race, closing a 4% gap since early October.
Both candidates have gotten 49% support from likely voters, with 2% saying they would support another candidate.
Harris’s support has declined by 2% since the last poll, implying that Trump could win the Electoral College, as he did in 2016, when he defeated Hillary Clinton despite receiving a minority of the popular vote.
The poll also revealed a substantial age disparity, with Harris leading by 20 percentage points among voters aged 18 to 34, while Trump leads by 14 percentage points among voters over 55, who make up the majority of the US electorate.
The United States presidential election will be conducted on November 5.
