The La Masia graduate joined the Bhoys on a season-long loan in the summer and has since made a significant impact at Parkhead.
Despite competing with Greg Taylor at left-back, Alex Valle has made nine appearances for Celtic in all competitions, recording three assists.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona had been impressed with Valle’s improvement at Parkhead, and that his status would be monitored ahead of next summer.
Brendan Rodgers has replied to recent speculation about the teenager as he continues to excel in Glasgow.
Brendan Rodgers discusses Alex Valle’s loan status
Speaking to Sky Sports, Rodgers stated that he has not heard anything regarding Barcelona potentially recalling Valle from his loan spell, despite reports in Spanish media that the La Liga giants may want to shorten his stay.
He explained: “Not that I’m aware of, no. Nobody has told me any different. I suppose we are getting close to the stage where rumours and gossip and everything kicks in leading into January.
“I know that Alex has really enjoyed his time here, and both on and off the pitch, he’s obviously a very important player for us. So, we wouldn’t want to lose him.
