Clark is scheduled to compete in the celebrity pro-am of The ANNIKA, driven by Gainbridge, at Pelican on Wednesday. She’s competing in the event against world No. 1 Nelly Korda and LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, so she worked hard to prepare and even hired a golf coach to help her improve her game.
The Fever guard confessed as much during her participation at the LPGA Women’s Leadership Summit on Tuesday.
“I’m strong, and I can hit it. It just doesn’t usually go straight,” Clark said about her golf game.
“I mean sometimes it goes straight, but it depends. You just step up there and you hope for the best. I’m a good sport about it, I just don’t want to hit anyone with a golf ball. That’s my number one priority.”
Sure enough, fans absolutely loved her response, with many praising her for being real. “Lmaooo, she’s effortlessly funny,” a commenter said. Another one shared, “So real.”
A social media user added, “She also said she had really set herself up for failure — I hope her fans understand that she’s not a great golfer.”
For what it’s worth, Caitlin Clark went viral in October after nearly hitting a hole-in-one during a golf round. However, it’s possible that the Fever star has nothing to worry about.
