Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese helped the WNBA reach new heights this season, with their popularity skyrocketing and reaching a larger fan base.
They carried their passionate rivalry from college to the big league, adding spice to the WNBA. Despite their intense rivalry, Clark and Reese have never insulted each other.
While Reese has occasionally launched subtle barbs at Clark, it is only part of her strategy for preserving her competitive edge. The two talented rookies continue to command respect.
On the latest episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, the 22-year-old Reese discussed with his guest, Funny Marco, the top outside sniper in the WNBA, and the Sky star didn’t hesitate to name Clark. “Let me see, who you feel like is the best three-point shooter in the WNBA?” asked the comedian.
“Between Caitlin, Diana Taurasi, um, who would say? Sabrina (Ionescu)?” replied Reese. “Yeah, between those three.”
Curiously, Funny Marco didn’t pick any of them. He instead veered off and mentioned Jewell Loyd, suggesting that the Seattle Storm star should join Reese on the Sky.
“You’re just a GM (general manager), you know it all,” said Reese with a laugh.
Clark, 22, led the WNBA in three-pointers made this season, with 122—the most by any rookie in history. She was followed by Arike Ogunbowale (112) and Kelsey Plum (110). Kelsey Mitchell and Ionescu completed the top five with 109 and 107, respectively. Taurasi was ranked ninth with 86.
Clark hit 34.4% from three, while Ionescu and Taurasi each shot 33.3%.
