As the Dallas Cowboys get closer to a high draft pick than a playoff place, head coach Mike McCarthy’s future appears bleaker by the week. While McCarthy has had to deal with an infinite amount of negative talk regarding his future with the organization, he can’t be happy about what happened on Friday night.
The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight took place on Friday at Jerry’s World, so Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was at AT&T Stadium, as expected. Former wide receiver Michael Irvin appears to be giving Jones a lecture.
What is the topic of discussion? None other than Deion Sanders, the current head football coach at Colorado.
Irvin sat with Jones and openly admitted that he plans to push for the Cowboys to hire Sanders. From the sound of it, he may already be in the middle of his pitch, as Pro Football Talk detailed.
“Everybody loves Mike [Tyson], but everybody loves and respects Jake [Paul] also for what he’s done here. To have an ability to not go the normal route and still end up right here,” Irvin said.
“You give him respect. I give him respect like I give my great guy Deion Sanders, who didn’t go the normal route. Who I’m gonna be in Jerry’s ear about later. That’s just something else we’re talking about.”
