Goff’s remarkable feat places him in an exclusive category of one. He is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 400 yards and post a perfect passer rating in multiple games. While many quarterbacks have put up big numbers, Goff is the sole member of this rare club. His accomplishment is all the more significant considering how few have been able to throw a perfect game at all. Goff becomes only the sixth quarterback in NFL history to record multiple perfect passer rating games with at least 15 attempts.
The performance also marked a historic moment for the Lions, as Goff’s perfect passer rating was just the second such occurrence in the franchise’s history, with Dave Krieg being the only other player to do so back in 1994.
Beyond the perfect rating, Goff is making history in other areas as well. This season, he has posted five games with a completion percentage of 80% or higher, setting an NFL record for most such games in a single season. He also has four games with a passer rating of 140 or better, tying for the most in a season.
