Crystal Palace are in serious risk of losing Marc Guehi next year.
The £18 million defender will only have 18 months remaining on his contract when the January transfer window comes around, so Steve Parish must decide whether to cash in at some point in 2025 or maintain a depreciating asset until his worth plummets.
Newcastle are still interested in signing Guehi despite failing to make numerous bids last summer, and the Magpies are planning a new approach for January.
It would be disastrous for Crystal Palace to lose the England international this winter, especially because Oliver Glasner’s club is now 19th in the Premier League.

Why is Marc Guehi hesitating to sign a new contract with Crystal Palace
We Are Palace understands the man from Abidjan is hesitant to accept a new contract at Selhurst Park in the middle of the season, particularly with Crystal Palace in danger of relegation.
Furthermore, it is believed Guehi believes he may gain a move to a UEFA Champions League club in the summer and is unwilling to commit his future to Crystal Palace.
We Are Palace have also been told that discussions over a new contract have not even take place across recent weeks, with Crystal Palace themselves unprepared to spend heavily on a new contract for the 24-year-old when Championship football is a real possibility next season.
Guehi currently earns £50,000-a-week at Selhurst Park, and seems keen to keep his options open.
Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman are prepared
While it would obviously be a major blow to lose Guehi at any point, Parish and Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Selhurst Park – have prepared Crystal Palace for this situation well.
Should the Crystal Palace No.6 depart SE25 soon, Glasner still has plenty of bodies to select a back three in his preferred 3-4-3 system, having recruited Chadi Riad and Maxence Lacroix last summer.
The duo would most likely play alongside Chris Richards in the long run, unless Trevoh Chalobah signs a permanent deal with Crystal Palace from Chelsea.
Additionally, the excellent Mofe Jemide is an alternative in central defense, while Jefferson Lerma and Nathaniel Clyne have also impressed in that position, indicating that Crystal Palace is well prepared to deal with Guehi’s departure.
