In a significant recruiting coup, the Florida Gators have secured a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Tavaris Dice, who has flipped from Auburn. This latest addition is a testament to the Gators’ relentless pursuit of top talent and their growing momentum heading into Early Signing Day.
Dice, a 6’4″ and 295-pound tackle from Georgia, is a consensus four-star recruit. While his rankings vary across different platforms, with 247 listing him as high as 159th overall, his film showcases a dominant force on the field. Dice is a physical specimen who takes pleasure in overpowering opposing defenders, often leaving them questioning their decision to play football.
The Gators’ coaching staff, led by Billy Napier, had been pursuing Dice aggressively, despite his initial commitment to Auburn in March. Dice’s official visit to Florida in June proved to be a turning point, as he ultimately decided to flip his commitment to the Gators.
Dice’s addition brings the Gators’ total number of verbal commits to 21, with three of those being offensive linemen. Florida is still in the hunt for five-star Solomon Thomas, currently committed to FSU, which could further bolster their recruiting class.
As it stands, the Gators are ranked 15th in the 247 team rankings. However, with their recent recruiting successes, they are pushing to crack the top ten.
