Three LSU football players earned Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Week honors for their performances in LSU’s 37-17 win over Oklahoma on December 1, 2024.
- Whit Weeks was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 17 tackles, including a sack, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a quarterback hurry. He led a defense that limited Oklahoma to just 277 total yards, the fewest allowed by LSU this season. This marks Weeks’ second SEC Defensive Player of the Week award of 2024.
- Aaron Anderson received SEC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, which came right after Oklahoma had taken a 14-10 lead. This return shifted momentum back to LSU’s favor and was only the third 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Tiger Stadium since 1981. Anderson also had three kickoff returns for 152 yards and one reception for six yards.
- Dominick McKinley earned SEC Freshman of the Week recognition after recording four tackles and two sacks in the win. McKinley’s sacks came in the fourth quarter, including two on consecutive possessions, helping LSU limit Oklahoma to only 10 offensive points.
These accolades highlight the standout contributions from LSU’s players in their dominant performance over Oklahoma.
