CNMI’s Antoni Kade Ogumoro Signs with University of Tennessee
In a momentous occasion, Antoni Kade Ogumoro, a 6’5″, 320-pound offensive lineman from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), officially signed with the University of Tennessee on a full-ride scholarship. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in Ogumoro’s academic and athletic journey.
The signing ceremony, held at Elgin High School in Oklahoma, was attended by Ogumoro’s parents, Ambrose and Mayumi; his godfather, Carlos Aguon; school staff; football coaching staff; friends; and local media. Ogumoro’s commitment to the University of Tennessee was initially announced earlier this year, making him the 10th commitment for the Tennessee Volunteers’ 2025 class.
Ogumoro’s impressive academic and athletic credentials have earned him numerous accolades. He concluded his high school career on the Dean’s Honor Roll and received 3A First Team All-Area and 3A First Team All-Conference honors in 2023. In 2024, he was named among The Oklahoman’s Top 30 Players in Oklahoma and recognized as the District 4A-1 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
Nationally, Ogumoro is rated as the Top 45 Interior Offensive Line prospect by ESPN (No. 33), On3 (No. 42), and 247Sports (No. 45). His varsity high school football team is currently undefeated with 13 wins and has a chance to lead them to their first state championship.
Ogumoro will begin his college journey on January 20, 2025, as an early enrollee. He will join the Tennessee Volunteers football program, also known as the Vols, UT, or Big Orange. Ogumoro expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I was just grateful to be where I’m at and soaking everything in.” He also thanked his family, coaches, teammates, and friends for their support throughout his journey.
Ogumoro’s parents, Ambrose and Mayumi, expressed pride and gratitude for their son’s achievement. “We’re very proud that he stayed true to his commitment to Tennessee and glad he’s officially signed with the University of Tennessee to continue his academic and athletic career,” they said. Mayumi added, “We felt blessed and amazing! This is the culmination of years upon years of sweat, prayers, and hard work, and seeing him take this first step into his collegiate career is such a blessing!”
Ogumoro’s family acknowledged the support of his coaches, family, and friends, stating, “We’d like to thank every single one of his coaches that have put in the time and effort to train him the right way. They are a big piece of his story, and without them, he wouldn’t be where he’s at today!”
As Ogumoro embarks on this new chapter, he is poised to make a significant impact on the University of Tennessee’s football program. His dedication, perseverance, and natural talent have earned him a well-deserved spot among the nation’s top collegiate athletes.
