Alabama Lands Four-Star Defensive End Kevonte Henry
In a massive recruiting coup, the Alabama Crimson Tide has secured the commitment of four-star defensive end Kevonte Henry. Henry, who currently plays for Cerritos Community College in Norwalk, California, is listed as the No. 2 junior college recruit in the country.
Henry’s recruitment was a whirlwind process, with the Crimson Tide emerging as the winner following a successful visit to Tuscaloosa. The defensive end had previously been committed to Mississippi State since June 14 but flipped his pledge to Alabama.
On the field, Henry has been impressive, recording 19 tackles, including 5.5 for loss and two sacks, in eight games for Cerritos this season. He also had 43 tackles and 3.5 sacks last season and will have two years of eligibility remaining when he joins the Crimson Tide in 2025.
Alabama’s General Manager, Courtney Morgan, played a significant role in Henry’s recruitment. Morgan had previously recruited Henry when he was at Michigan, and the two reconnected when Morgan joined the Crimson Tide.
Henry is expected to play the Bandit position at Alabama, and his 6-foot-5, 250-pound frame makes him an attractive prospect. He will join the Crimson Tide after graduating from junior college in December.
With Henry’s commitment, Alabama now has 22 commits in the Class of 2025, including three defensive line products. The Crimson Tide’s recruiting class continues to take shape, and Henry’s addition is a significant boost to the team’s defensive line.
