Arkansas came out strong, scoring 21 points in the first quarter, with Green scoring on a 12-yard touchdown run and finding Dazmin James for a 94-yard touchdown pass. James, a redshirt freshman, had a breakout game with 137 receiving yards and a touchdown.²
Texas Tech fought back in the second quarter, forcing a safety and a fumble, and scoring 16 consecutive points to narrow the deficit to 24-19 at halftime. However, Arkansas’ defense took control in the second half, with Marquise Robinson intercepting a pass and Anton Juncaj sacking Will Hammond in the end zone for a safety.
The Razorbacks’ offense continued to click, with Green finding Tyrell Reed Jr. for a 47-yard touchdown pass. Arkansas’ running backs, Rodney Hill and Tyrell Reed Jr., also had notable performances, with Hill rushing for 81 yards and Reed Jr. scoring his first career touchdown
Despite the loss, Texas Tech’s Will Hammond had a respectable game, throwing for 280 yards and a touchdown. J’Koby Williams also rushed for 123 yards and a score.
Overall, the Liberty Bowl was an exciting game that showcased the talents of Taylen Green and the Arkansas Razorbacks. With this win, Arkansas finishes the season 7-6, while Texas Tech ends with an 8-5 record.
