Alabama Crimson Tide Bolsters Offensive Line with Transfer Portal Addition
The Alabama Crimson Tide has secured a significant transfer portal commitment, landing Ball State offensive lineman, Anugwom. Standing at 6-foot-6 and 325 pounds, Anugwom brings substantial size and strength to the Crimson Tide’s offensive line.
Anugwom’s passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide is evident, as he expressed his lifelong admiration for the team. “I love Alabama Crimson Tide from my childhood, so I’m here to make you all proud,” he stated. This enthusiasm, combined with his athletic prowess, makes him an exciting addition to the team.
Anugwom’s experience at Ball State has prepared him for the challenges of competing at a high level. He made his first career start in the 2024 season finale against Ohio, following late-game appearances against Western Michigan earlier in the season. This taste of collegiate football will serve him well as he transitions to the Crimson Tide.
Alabama’s coaching staff, led by Kalen DeBoer, had identified the need for additional offensive line depth. DeBoer noted in December that the team was “well below what we felt we really need on a team, on a roster, of scholarship guys this year.” Anugwom’s arrival addresses this concern, bringing the projected total of scholarship offensive linemen for 2025 to 17.
The Crimson Tide’s incoming transfer portal class, ranked 32nd by 247 Sports, has secured six total commitments. Anugwom joins a talented group of newcomers, including four incoming freshmen: Michael Carroll, Jackson Lloyd, Micah DeBose, and Mal Waldrep.
As the Alabama Crimson Tide prepares for the 2025 season, Anugwom’s addition is a significant boost to the team’s offensive line. His size, strength, and passion for the team make him an exciting prospect, and fans will eagerly await his contributions to the Crimson Tide’s success.
