Rising sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams, defensive lineman LT Overton, and another Alabama player earned spots on the prestigious list.
Ryan Williams: A Rising Star
Williams, a key contributor to the Crimson Tide’s offense as a true freshman in 2024, secured a First Team projection at wide receiver. He led Alabama in receiving with 48 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns, while also rushing for two more. Williams’ impressive freshman season was marked by five touchdown catches in his first four games, including the game-winner against Georgia.
According to Low, Williams “didn’t finish his freshman season the way he started it, but still proved to be one of the most explosive players in the nation.” With an average of 18 yards per catch and five receptions of 50-plus yards, Williams is poised for an even bigger impact in 2025.
LT Overton: A Dominant Force on Defense
Defensive lineman LT Overton, who opted to return to Tuscaloosa for the 2025 season instead of entering the NFL draft, also earned First Team honors. Overton, a transfer from Texas A&M, was a top performer on Alabama’s defensive line in 2024, accumulating 42 tackles, three TFL, and two sacks.
Low praised Overton’s unique ability to handle the hybrid bandit position, which combines elements of defensive lineman and edge rusher. With a year of experience in Kane Wommack’s defense under his belt, Overton is expected to have a breakout senior campaign.
