Brisbane Broncos Name Strong Team for Pre-Season Opener Against Burleigh Bears
The Brisbane Broncos have announced their team for the pre-season trial match against the Burleigh Bears, set to take place at UAA Park in Burleigh on Saturday. The team, captained by Jock Madden at halfback, features a mix of experienced NRL players and exciting young talent.
Madden, who could potentially start the NRL season if injuries strike, will partner Josh Rogers in the halves. Delouise Hoeter and Josiah Karapani have been named in the centers, while Tyson Smoothy takes the number nine jumper. Smoothy played a significant role off the bench in 2024 and will be looking to impress in the pre-season.
The forward pack includes Benjamin Te Kura, Jaiyden Hunt, and exciting youngster Tristan Powell. Latrell Siegwalt, a highly touted junior signing, will start the game at fullback.
The Broncos have also named a strong interchange bench, featuring a host of young talent including Israel Leota, Coby Black, VJ Semu, Cameron Bukowski, and Jett Bryce.
