The Mississippi State Bulldogs, concluding the regular season with a 20-11 overall record and 8-10 in SEC play, have secured the No. 10 seed in the tournament. Their opening game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. CT (1:00 a.m. WAT on Thursday, March 13) against the No. 15 seed, Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers, who finished their season at 14-17 overall and 3-15 in the SEC. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
Should the Bulldogs triumph over LSU, they will advance to the second round on Thursday, March 13, facing the No. 7 seed, Missouri Tigers, at 6:00 p.m. CT (1:00 a.m. WAT on Friday, March 14). Missouri concluded their regular season with a 21-10 overall record and 10-8 in the SEC. A victory in this matchup would propel Mississippi State into the quarterfinals on Friday, March 14, against the No. 2 seed, Florida Gators, at 6:00 p.m. CT (1:00 a.m. WAT on Saturday, March 15). The Gators finished their season with a 14-4 conference record.
