In 2024, Love finished with impressive stats: 1,125 rushing yards, 237 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns. His performance was a testament to his hard work and dedication. Love’s resilience and perseverance were evident in his ability to play through the injury. “I had an MCL sprain… I didn’t need to get surgery. It wasn’t that serious,” Love explained. “Just a minor little MCL sprain. Something that isn’t major. Just had to get rehab and just work on it.”

Notre Dame’s first spring practice showcased Love’s rapid recovery. His explosive movements and twitchy plays were back, indicating a successful rehabilitation process. Although the team will exercise caution with Love’s workload this spring, his progress is a promising sign for the upcoming season.

Love will now focus on developing a relationship with new running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider, who joins Notre Dame from Penn State. Seider’s expertise will help Love and the other backs enhance their football knowledge, particularly in understanding defenses and coverage.
“Having him in our room will help all of us get a deep understanding of defenses and what coverage they’re in,” Love said. “He’ll help with our football knowledge, and he’s a great coach. He’s got great indy drills. Lots of good bag work.”
Seider’s High Praise for Love
Coach Seider has been impressed by Love’s elite traits, including his speed, ball skills, short-area quickness, and vision. “He’s one of the best guys I’ve ever seen run routes,” Seider said. “The best thing that can happen to a running back is if a linebacker gotta go out there and cover him. That’s a win that we have to win…”

The 2024 season was a learning experience for Love, who acknowledged the importance of teamwork and perseverance. “I think that shows how much love I have for my team… No matter what, I just wanted to go out there and play for my guys and try to make plays when I could.”
