The defensive end out of Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Florida, brings not only talent but a deep family connection to Tallahassee.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 233 pounds, Hester is known for his quick first step, relentless motor, and physical play off the edge. Ranked 461st nationally, 34th among edge rushers, and 61st in Florida by the 247Sports Composite, Hester chose Florida State over notable offers from the Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions, cementing his decision in late January.
His commitment is more than just another addition to FSU’s recruiting haul—it’s personal. Hester is the son of former Seminole linebacker James Hester, who played for Florida State under legendary coach Bobby Bowden. The family legacy and deep-rooted connection to the program helped make Florida State the clear frontrunner throughout the recruitment process.
“Aaron has always been a Seminole at heart,” said a source close to the program. “It was about finding the right fit both athletically and personally, and FSU checked all the boxes.”
