The University of Georgia has secured a major piece of its future offensive line, as blue-chip 2026 prospect Graham Houston announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Thursday. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive lineman from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia, chose to stay in-state, turning down offers from several top-tier programs including Ole Miss, Florida, and Florida State.
Houston, a four-star recruit, is highly regarded across national recruiting services. According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings, he is currently the No. 33 overall player in the state of Georgia and ranks No. 23 among all interior offensive linemen in the Class of 2026. Nationally, he is listed as the No. 297 overall prospect in the class.
In an interview with the Athens Banner-Herald, Houston explained that Georgia simply felt like the right fit for his goals and development as a player.
“You know, I feel like it’s the best fit for me,” he said. “I can end up being a great football player there. Hopefully, the goal is to win a few national championships and, obviously, the main goal is to go to the NFL. I just feel like it’s the best place I can strive as a football player.”
Houston’s commitment gives Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class a significant boost. He becomes the seventh known pledge for the class and is the first offensive lineman to join the group. Perhaps even more importantly, he is the fifth blue-chip recruit in what is already shaping up to be one of the nation’s top recruiting hauls.
Known for his size, strength, and athleticism, Houston is projected to be an interior lineman at the collegiate level, though he brings the versatility that could allow him to play multiple positions along the offensive front. His high school program, Buford, is widely respected as one of Georgia’s premier football schools and has produced numerous college and NFL players over the years. His experience playing against top competition will help prepare him for the next level in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and his staff have made offensive line development a priority during their time in Athens, and Houston appears to be the next in line of high-upside linemen joining the Bulldogs. With multiple national championships under Smart and a proven track record of developing players for the NFL, Georgia continues to attract elite talent across the board.
