Fleetwood Mac Announces Surprise Reunion Tour Kicking Off Next Month, Teases First New Album in Two Decades
In a move that has thrilled fans across generations, Fleetwood Mac announced today that they will be reuniting for a North American tour set to begin next month. The iconic rock band made the surprise reveal via a press conference in Los Angeles, confirming both the tour and the development of a new studio album—their first in nearly 20 years.
The tour, titled The Chain Reconnects, will kick off on June 28 in Chicago and span over 20 cities, including stops in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Toronto. All five members—Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie (in hologram tribute form), and Lindsey Buckingham—are expected to be part of the tour in some capacity, with the band emphasizing a “full-circle celebration of their legacy.” Buckingham’s return marks the end of a long-standing feud that had previously left him out of recent lineups.
In addition to the tour, Fleetwood Mac confirmed they are deep into the recording process for a new album, tentatively titled Echoes. While details remain under wraps, Stevie Nicks described the project as “a journey back into our roots with the fire of everything we’ve been through.” Producer Rick Rubin is reportedly involved, sparking further excitement among music insiders.
Tickets for the tour are set to go on sale next week, with presales available to fan club members starting Monday. Given the band’s massive legacy and the rarity of such reunions, promoters are expecting a sellout for most venues within hours of launch. Special guests for the tour have yet to be announced, but hints point toward a few surprise collaborations.
Fleetwood Mac last toured together in 2018, and Christine McVie’s passing in 2022 cast uncertainty over any future performances. However, Mick Fleetwood stated during the announcement, “This isn’t just a tour—it’s a tribute, a reconnection, and a celebration of everything we’ve built together. Christine is still very much with us, and we’re doing this with her spirit leading the way.”
