Unranked but undeniably gifted linebacker Terrence Penick out of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia, has officially received a scholarship offer from Mississippi State — and the 6-foot-3, 200-pound hybrid athlete says it feels like the moment he’s been waiting for.
“The offer from Mississippi State truly feels like a blessing,” Penick said in a recent interview. “The SEC is a huge deal and it’s always been a dream of mine to compete in.”
Despite flying under the radar so far with no official ranking, Penick is emerging as a high-upside talent with the ability to make plays on both sides of the ball. As a junior in 2024, he lined up at both linebacker and wide receiver, showcasing rare versatility for a player of his size.
While he averaged 11 yards per reception on offense, it’s his performance on defense that’s getting him serious attention.
