Dubbed “The Gathering at South Forsyth,” the proposed development is more than just an arena; it’s a $2 billion mixed-use complex designed to serve as a gateway to Forsyth County. The centerpiece, an 18,500-seat arena, is intended to attract a National Hockey League franchise back to the Atlanta area. The broader vision encompasses a world-class entertainment district, aiming to rival developments like The Battery Atlanta.
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has shown substantial support, approving up to $225 million in public funds towards the project, contingent upon securing an NHL team. Architectural firm FRCH Design Worldwide and project manager ASM Global are at the helm of the design and operational planning, bringing extensive experience from similar large-scale venues.
