Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 210 pounds, Jones brings a dual-threat capability that has garnered attention from several top-tier programs. Despite offers from Colorado State, North Texas, Texas State, and UTSA, he chose to join the Red Raiders, marking a pivotal moment in Texas Tech’s recruiting efforts.
Jones had an impressive high school career at Hitchcock High School, where he showcased his versatility and playmaking ability. In his senior season, he accumulated 2,598 passing yards and 34 touchdowns, along with 576 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
